How IPC Security Consulting collects, uses and protects your information. Last updated 4 October 2026.
IPC Security Consulting (ABN 70 532 313 682) provides cybersecurity assessment and advisory services to small and medium businesses in Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean IPC Security Consulting.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
When you contact us. If you use the contact form on our website, we collect your name, email address, the level of support you're considering, and the message you write.
When you use the Free Security Check. Your answers are worked out in your browser, and the result is shown to you on the page. Nothing from the check is sent to us unless you choose to submit the follow-up form. If you do, we receive your name, email address, business name (if you provide it), and a summary of your result and answers, so we can follow up with you.
When you become a client. To deliver an engagement, we collect information about your business, such as assessment responses, descriptions of your systems and controls, policies, and details about your vendors. We also collect contact details for the people we work with. This is typically entered through our client portal or shared during sessions with us.
When you visit our website. Our website does not use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics tools. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and operational purposes.
We do not sell your personal information. We will only send you marketing if you've asked for it or would reasonably expect it, and you can opt out at any time.
We know the information you share during an engagement can be sensitive. We use it only to deliver your engagement, we limit access to it, and we treat it as confidential. The terms of your engagement set out how we handle it in more detail, including what happens to it when the work ends.
We use a small number of service providers to run our business. They only receive what they need to do their job:
We don't share your information with anyone else unless you ask us to, or we're required to by law.
Some of the providers above may store or process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is still handled appropriately.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and secure storage. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations, and then delete or de-identify it.
If something goes wrong and your personal information is involved in a breach likely to cause serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Email us at the address below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll do our best to put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Our website links to other sites, such as our client portal and government resources. They have their own privacy practices, and this policy doesn't cover them.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
